Natural Acne Solutions

By

We have all had to deal with acne at some point or another in our lives. Acne doesn't affect just teens! It can effect anyone at anytime. Young, old, women, men, even pregnancy can bring on a bout of embarrassing acne! There are different ways to get your face looking smooth and pimple-free again.

The most popular would be to go spend a good bit of money on chemicals you see on TV that claim they work overnight. Although these products may or may not work, why spend so much money on harsh chemicals you will put on your face? There are numerous natural acne solutions out there to try. The only hard part in treating acne is, deciding what skin type you have. Different skin types react to different natural acne solutions. Remember that prevention is the best medicine. Showering daily to remove excess oil off your face is one way to prevent acne. Another way, is to drink lots of water to keep your skin pure. The average person should drink half their body weight in ounces of water a day!

Natural Acne Solutions to Fight Off Bacteria

The biggest cause of acne is bacteria. The idea is treating an annoying zit, would be to kill the bacteria that surrounds it. Using a fruit or vegetable that has some acidity to it is a great way to fight off the acne causing bacteria! Lemon juice, lime juice, and tomatoes are the three most common items used for this purpose. Any of these can help kill bacteria and dry up acne. These are likely to sting a bit and cause some dryness on your face. Following them up with a treatment of aloe vera can help ease the pain and heal the skin faster.

Combining these products with other natural ingredients is also a way to get the maximum of their acne fighting attributes. Apple cider vinegar, green tea, and honey are all natural ingredients that have shown positive effects when dealing with acne. One of my favorite acne treatments is to combine lemon juice, green tea, and honey to make an acne fighting mask. All three ingredients will work to combat the bacteria trapped in your pores, and the honey will serve to keep your skin healthy, moist, and smooth.

This video shows a simple recipe that can be used to make a natural acne mask:

Natural Solutions for Blackheads and Whiteheads

Do you have blackheads? Try a natural face wash! Boil some milk and add the juice from half a lime. Let cool and wash! This natural face wash can stay in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, and is cheap to make as well.

Problem with whiteheads? Try a raw potato! You may feel like you are back in the 15th century, but this works. Cut open a raw potato and rub around like a soap bar on your face. Potatoes are full of vitamin C which gives a glow to your skin. In addition, the alkaline in the potato will kill any bacteria you have on your face, preventing even more breakouts!

Keep Your Face Clear with Natural Products

Now that you know some natural acne solutions, keep in mind that maintaining a clear face is half the battle. Wash your face at least twice a day with a gentle soap and pat dry. Keep your hands from touching your face as much as possible, as this will irritate your sensitive skin. If you are a woman, try to wear as little make up as possible. After wearing makeup, be sure to remove all of it before you go to bed to let your skin "breathe". Foundation especially blocks all the pores in your face, allowing for some nasty acne breakouts later. Exercise is a great way to keep the blood moving...and pores open! Get outside and get some sunshine and vitamin D which helps your skin become and stay healthy.

Be sure to moisturize your face after any acne cleansing, as this will leave your face dry. Almond oil is a great way to moisturize without leaving your face oily (inviting another bout of acne). To make your own almond oil, just grind a few almond nuts with enough water to make a paste. After a few minutes wash off with water! If this is too much work, a simple application of plain, non-fat yogurt will do the trick as well!
