67Pimple care does not need to be complicated. Popular myths about acne are eating greasy food and chocolate will cause breakouts. What you eat is not the only cause of acne, although a healthy diet doesn’t hurt. Touching your face while eating the greasy food, on the other hand, can cause clogging of your pores thereby causing pimples.
During puberty when hormones are intensifying the skin produces sebum. The over production of which is the cause of most pimples. What you eat, clean with, and do, cannot control the production of this pimple causing oil.
Skin is the body’s largest organ, millions of cells regenerate constantly. Made up of 3 layers it protects the underlying muscles and organs from harm. The first or top layer is the epidermis, which renews approximately every 28 days or so. The second layer, the dermis, is where hair follicles, glands and blood are located. The third layer, the subcutis, is the deepest layer of the skin and is made of up of mostly fat, allowing it to be a sort of shock absorber, insulating the body from damage.
Washing your face a couple times a day is something you can do to help prevent pimples. While gently washing the skin, try not to irritate the problem areas with too much rubbing, you simply want to keep it clean and assist in washing away dead skin and dirt helping the skin to regenerate.
In some extreme cases of dermatologists sometimes prescribe special cleansers and other pimple skin care products. Be careful of all of the over-the-counter creams, astringents, and cleansers, some of them will simply cause more harm to the skin, the added damage will then prompt you to buy even more skin care items and so begins a vicious cycle. Throwing good money after bad and wasting it on unnecessary and harmful products is not a good idea. Simply using witch hazel as an astringent is recommended, similar to alcohol but not nearly as harsh, it can sooth skin while cleaning a bit more than just soap and water.
It’s tempting. but popping pimples is not the answer, this just pushes more bacteria or infected pus back into the pores, leading to redness and swelling, and spreading the problem to more areas. Try not to touch your face too often, it spreads the bacteria and clogs the pores with oil and dirt. The to wash your face gently with regular soap and water a couple times a day. Do not scrub, or apply a lot of astringents as this will just irritate your skin even more.
Pimple care is not only for your face. Acne can spread to any part of your body, again keep the areas affected clean is important, but try to wear loose clothing and clothing that makes you perspire. The perspiration can easily mix with any dirt already on the skin and clog your pores. Stay away from hats, headbands, scarves or anything that collects dirt and keeps it close to the skin.
Pimple care and prevention is fairly simple, keeping your skin as clean as possible and not adding anything to the skin that will clog your pores. Ladies, remove your make-up at night with a gentle touch. Touching your face too often can inflame and irritate your skin causing the spread unwanted bacteria and other pore clogging oils. Using hypoallergenic make-up and those not containing oil can also prevent breakouts. Most importantly, I cannot say this enough, do not forget to remove your make up when you go to sleep. Give your face a rest, chances are you are already beautiful just the way you are. If you have an event, or something special, sure a little added color is good, but for everyday, keep make-up to a minimum.
